Lore & Infos
The Ariugazè desert covers the vast majority of the land mass of the Lokonua world (placeholder name ehh). It is a hot and mostly sandy environment, with some rock formations and mountains.
Sandstorms are very frequent and though varying in strength, they are deadly to almost any living thing without proper protection or cover, making travelling or living outside a city next to impossible. Close to 90 percent of the population living in the desert resides in **Ziyaren City** or on its outskirts, leaving only a couple of outcasts or little communities scattered around.
Buried in the sand can be found ruins and remnants of technology from what is assumed to be a past civilisation. These materials and parts are highly valuable as they are the basis for the machines that allow the inhabitants to protect themselves as well as their crops and their water supply from the sandstorms. Knowledge on this technology is however very limited, as are the resources, and the mechanics of Ziyaren have yet to be able to do anything more than repair the already existing machines.
ZIYAREN / Theo's people
The city's symbol is a golden sand rose with a triangle and an azure water drop in its center.
All of the council members wear this symbol as a brooch, the drop shape on theirs is however empty, representing humility and their devotion to the city.
Theo has a brooch with the original symbol, which is usually worn by the city guards.
generally arabic-inspired culture, especially aesthetically (buildings, food, colorful and petterned clothing), blended with the technology and remains found from the old civilization (simpler, more "futuristic" feel, smooth and hard materials, limited colors, smooth but inorganic shapes)
The culture is very much centered around the trade and repairing of technology parts, the most prized ressource in the city, with the most common jobs being either remain hunters or traders. General artisans are also pretty common (textile etc) but are usually lower class
